Trying Quill: The Free Week

Every new account can start a free week of Quill Pro:

• 500 credits to spend on Quill
• 7 days
• No credit card, nothing to cancel
• Opt-in — you start it with one tap after signing in

When the week ends, you drop back to the free editor with no Quill credits. Nothing gets charged, nothing gets deleted, and your scripts are untouched. To keep using Quill after that, buy a credit pack or subscribe to Quill Pro (both below).

After the Trial

Once the trial ends (or if you never started one), you have two ways to use Quill: A user with no active trial or subscription and no credit pack simply has 0 Quill credits — and the editor still works fully. Credits are spent only when Quill answers: a typical answer costs a few credits, and bigger requests cost more.

Manage Your Subscription

Check Credit Balance

From Inkwell app:

1. Look at status bar (bottom of window)
2. Click your Quill status
3. Popover shows:
   • Credits remaining
   • Whether you’re on a trial, Quill Pro, or credit packs
   • Next refresh date (if on Pro or a trial)
   • Days remaining in your trial

From web dashboard:

1. Visit inkwell.app
2. Log in → Profile → Usage
3. See detailed statistics and writing activity

Upgrade to Pro

From Inkwell app (easiest):

1. Click your plan in the status bar
2. Click “Upgrade Plan” button
3. Complete checkout (opens in browser or uses in-app purchase)

From web:

1. Visit inkwell.app/pricing
2. Choose Pro plan
3. Complete checkout

In-App Purchase (Mac App Store version):

• Uses Apple’s payment system
• Managed through App Store subscriptions
• Same features as web version

Cancel Pro Subscription

Web subscription:

1. Visit inkwell.app
2. Profile → Manage Subscription
3. Click Cancel
4. Confirm cancellation

Mac App Store subscription:

1. macOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
2. Find Inkwell Pro
3. Click Cancel Subscription

What happens after canceling:

• Keep Pro credits until the billing period ends
• Your scripts and work are completely safe — the editor keeps working, free, forever
• Monthly credits stop refreshing (your balance drops to 0 once used, unless you hold a credit pack)
• You can buy a $4.99 credit pack anytime, or resubscribe later

How to Purchase

From Inkwell app:

1. Open the Quill status in the status bar (or Settings → Account)
2. Click “Buy Credits”
3. Confirm the 150-credit pack for $4.99
4. Complete purchase

From web:

1. Visit inkwell.app
2. Profile → Buy Credits
3. Complete checkout

Credit Pack Details

Purchased pack credits:

• $4.99 for 150 credits
• Never expire — use them whenever you come back
• No subscription, no auto-renewal
• Stack on top of any Pro or trial credits you already have

Example: A writer with no subscription buys a 150-credit pack and spends it on Quill at their own pace — a few credits each time Quill answers. When they run out, the editor still works — they just buy another pack or subscribe when they want Quill back.

Pack or Pro?

Buy a pack when:

• You use Quill occasionally
• You have a one-off deadline push
• You’d rather not have a subscription

Subscribe to Pro when:

• You’d buy a pack most months anyway
• You want a fresh 500 credits every month without thinking about it

Billing Cycle

Monthly plans:

• Billed on the same date each month
• Credits refresh on billing date
• Prorated if you upgrade mid-cycle

Credits refresh:

• Quill Pro: 500 credits on your billing date each month
• Free trial: 500 credits for 7 days, once, for new accounts
• No subscription: no refresh — you spend credit packs at your own pace

Unused credits:

• Monthly Pro credits do not roll over
• Purchased credit packs never expire

Receipts & Invoices

Web subscriptions:

• Emailed automatically after each payment
• Access history at inkwell.app → Billing

App Store subscriptions:

• Managed through Apple
• View receipts in App Store → Apple ID → Purchase History
