Highlights
The headline is Breakdown. Ask Quill to break down your script and it tags what each scene needs — cast, props, vehicles, animals, sounds and more — as suggestions you review, confirm or reject. Nothing counts until you say so, and the result is saved with your script. The rest of this release is about the moments when something goes wrong. A failed save, an expired sign-in, an empty cloud list or a Quill request that did not go through now each tell you what happened, in a sentence, with a button that fixes it.New
- Breakdown. Open Quill and ask it to break down your script. Each scene heading gets a small badge (“7 elements · 2 suggested”) — click it to confirm or reject that scene’s suggestions in one place, or use Confirm All. The new Breakdown tab in the sidebar walks the whole script scene by scene, lets you confirm a whole category at once, and flags scenes you have changed since Quill last looked.
- Add to Breakdown. Select a word in your script, right-click, and choose Add to Breakdown to tag it yourself — as a new element, or as one Quill already found.
Improved
- Quill tells you what went wrong. When Quill cannot answer, you see why — signed out, out of credits, too many requests, or a server hiccup — with the one button that helps: Sign In, Upgrade, Buy Credits or Try Again.
- Sign-outs explain themselves. If your session ends, for example after you change your password on another device, Inkwell says so and the account button offers Sign in again, instead of quietly acting signed out.
- The start window explains an empty cloud list. If your cloud scripts are missing because you are offline, sync is locked, or loading failed, the start window says which — with a Try Again button when that will help.
- Open Recent stays tidy. Scripts you have deleted or moved no longer linger in File ▸ Open Recent.
Fixed
- A failed save now shows a notice you can dismiss and retry, instead of repeating the same alert. Save As only switches you to the new file once it has actually been written.
- Import errors now say what was wrong with the file instead of a generic failure.
