Improved

• Rename a character everywhere, actually everywhere. When Quill proposes an edit that matches several places — like renaming a character across the whole script — accepting it now applies every occurrence, not just the first.
• PDF import got noticeably smarter. Paragraphs no longer merge together across page breaks, dialogue that continues onto a new page stays dialogue, cold opens and teaser pages before the first scene heading are kept instead of skipped, and scripts with tight top margins no longer lose their first line on every page.
• Tab into parentheticals that stick. Pressing Tab to turn a line into a parenthetical now wraps it in parentheses for you, so it reads correctly on the page and stays a parenthetical after you save and reopen.
• Your old version history comes along. Opening a script from the previous version of Inkwell now carries its saved version history into the new system instead of leaving it behind.

Fixed

• Typing @, ., !, > or ~ over selected text now replaces the selection like any other key, instead of leaving the old text in place.
• Marking, committing, or clearing revisions now counts as unsaved work — closing the window right afterward asks you to save instead of silently discarding it.
• Centered text and section heading levels now survive saving, reopening, and export.
• Locked scene numbers now stay put on the page, and locking or unlocking a number can be undone cleanly.
• Changing a character’s highlight color no longer washes out revision marks.
• Find now sees characters who only speak in dual dialogue, and can filter by them.
• Dragging scenes in the outline no longer garbles text when your script doesn’t end on an empty line.
• Text dropped or dictated into the script now formats every line, not just the last one.
• Undo now works when you change the type of an empty line.

• Cancelling an answer and immediately sending a new message no longer makes your new message disappear.
• Accepting or rejecting a suggested edit is now a single, clean undo step — and no longer leaves stray blank lines behind.
• A brief hiccup mid-answer no longer leaves an error banner under a perfectly good response, and Retry now re-sends your attachments too.
• If your subscription info fails to load, Quill now says so and offers a retry instead of failing quietly.
• If a card payment is retrying, you keep Quill Pro during the grace period instead of being locked out.

• Fountain files with multi-line title pages now import their title page instead of dumping it into the script.
• Text inside /* boneyard */ comments stays hidden on import.
• An all-caps action line ending in a period — THE ROOM GOES DARK. — no longer turns into a phantom character cue.
• Final Draft paragraphs that start a new page keep their text.

• ⌘N opens the new tab in the window you’re actually using.
• ⌘F reliably opens Find, and the zoom shortcuts behave consistently.
• The System theme now follows macOS light and dark mode the moment it changes.
• Quitting with several unsaved scripts open now asks about every one of them.
• “Install and Restart” for updates no longer tangles with the quit confirmation — and if you’re not ready, the update politely waits.
