Highlights
This release rebuilds how Inkwell manages its windows so they behave the way you expect: the app opens to the start screen, closing and quitting do exactly what they say, and you never end up with stray or empty windows. The Writing Streak card on the start screen is working again too.Improved
- Opening, closing, and quitting just work. New Screenplay always opens a single editor, clicking the Dock icon brings the right window forward, and there are no more phantom or empty windows. The surprise “are you sure you want to quit?” prompt is gone.
- A cleaner first launch. Finishing — or skipping — the welcome screens now lands you on the start screen to choose a script, instead of dropping you into an untitled blank document.
Fixed
- The app quits when you ask it to. Closing the start window or pressing ⌘Q now reliably quits Inkwell, instead of leaving it running with no window on screen.
- The editor titlebar is clear. “Inkwell Editor” no longer overlaps the controls at the top of your script.
- Opening a script is dependable. Opening a file from Finder, on launch, or from Recent Files reliably opens it in an editor — and an unsupported file sends you to the start screen instead of showing an error.
- Your Writing Streak is back. The streak card on the start screen again shows your real current streak, record, and total writing time. Signed out? It now offers Log In and Create Account right there.
