Highlights
Quill starts fresh when you come back. If you were talking to Quill in the last few hours, it picks up right where you were. Otherwise it opens a clean conversation, with a Continue button for your last one, so a new question doesn’t get buried under yesterday’s chat. Your files stay where you put them. Rename or move a script in Finder while it’s open and Inkwell follows it. If a script is deleted or replaced while you’re working, Inkwell stops and tells you instead of quietly writing over anything.New
- Fresh chats with Continue. Quill reopens a recent conversation, and starts a new one when you’ve been away. One click on Continue brings the last conversation back.
- A nudge when a chat gets long. Very long conversations slow Quill down and blur its focus. When one gets there, Quill offers to continue in a new chat that starts with a summary of the old one.
Improved
- Quill works on the script in front of you. With several windows or tabs open, Quill reads and suggests edits in the window you’re typing in, and its edit suggestions appear only in that window.
- Renamed and moved scripts are followed. Saves go to the script’s new name and folder.
- Nothing gets overwritten by surprise. If an open script is deleted, moved to the Trash, or replaced by a different file, autosave pauses and a notice explains what happened. ⌘S offers Save As instead of recreating the file.
- Opening a script that’s already open brings its window forward instead of opening a second copy. Opening several scripts from Finder at once opens every one of them.
- Opening or importing never replaces unsaved work in the window you’re in.
- Private on a shared Mac. Quill conversations and writing-session stats are kept separately for each account signed in on this Mac. If you delete your account, its Quill chats and other local data are removed from the Mac too.
- Character names are easier to read in every theme.
Fixed
- Revision marks now survive saving and reopening your script.
- Undo and redo keep Quill’s suggested edits in step with your script.
- The ✓ and ✗ next to a suggested edit in your script work again, at every zoom level.
- Word count and the outline stay exact after large edits and undo.
- The window title, tab, and Save sheet all show the same name for your script.
- The Explain Mark card sits below the line you’re on and stays on screen.
- Notices about saving or opening problems appear below the toolbar where you can read them, instead of under the window’s buttons.
- The setup window fits its content.
- PDF imports stitch “(cont’d)” back together even when it’s lowercase.
